The Viking battle group Pàlna-Tòkis Freimænd practice their battle training

Get some insight into Viking fighting techniques and weapons when the Viking battle group Pàlna-Tòkis Freimænd practice their battle training near the museum.
The Viking battle group Pàlna-Tòkis Freimænd consists of a band of strong men and fearless women between the ages of 18 and 65. This group, from Eastern Funen, has been around for a few years, and its members have between 1 and 12 years of fighting experience.
When they come to the Viking Musuem, it is with authentic weapons and clothing. They fight with one-handed axes, two-handed axes (also called Danes’ axes), one-handed spears, two-handed spears, swords and Saxon knives. During their training, the group, will demonstrate different battle techniques, such as line-fighting, large groups meeting face-to-face, and circle-fighting, which is one-on-one, until the best warrior is left standing.

You will have the chance to ask questions and to have a chat with the fearless men and strong women. Children and interested adults can get right up close to a warrior.

Please note that cancellation sometimes occurs.
